if you haven't experienced the munich oktoberfest (aka wiesn), you're missing out! the jolly happening atmosphere seems neverending. for one, and i guess most importantly, the beer is unbelievably good. and drinking out of a mass somehow adds to the enjoyment. only local breweries may participate and they all produce their best/special beer for the oktoberfest period. special also means that extra bit more alcohol. i've read that some breweries make over 70% percent of their yearly (no typo) turnover during the oktoberfest period. unbelievable!
